The track from the estate boundary is flat and unremarkable for most of its length — which makes the bridge itself land harder, appearing all at once at the top of a short climb.
Bowtells Suspension Bridge has been soaring 270 metres above the valley floor since 1992, part of the legendary Six Foot Track that once carried walkers all the way to Jenolan Caves. It moves underfoot the way suspension bridges are supposed to — enough to remind you of the height, not enough to feel unsafe.
The route is self-guided and well marked, following the creek line from the estate boundary before the short climb to the bridge. Maps are available at reception, though the track needs little explanation — follow the creek, then follow the signs up.
Most guests are back at the estate within the hour, but few come back quite the same way they left — there is something about standing over that much air that recalibrates the rest of the day.
